Title: Effects of esomeprazole combined with mosapride in treatment of severe reflux esophagitis
Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of esomeprazole combined with mosapride in the treatment of severe reflux esophagitis.Methods Ninety patients with severe reflux esophagitis diagnosed by endoscopy were randomly divided into three groups.Group A received esomeprazole 20 mg twice daily and mosapride 5 mg three times daily.Group B received omeprazole 20 mg twice daily and mosapride 5 mg three times daily.Group C received esomeprazole 20 mg twice daily.After 8 weeks,endoscopy was performed to study the healing rate.Improvement in symptoms and adverse effects were recorded.Results After treatment 8 weeks,the total symptom improvement rates in group A,B and C were 96.88%,75.00% and 70.00%,respectively;the endoscopic healing rates were 93.75%,71.43% and 66.67%,respectively.Compared with group B and group C,there were significant differences in total symptom improvement rates and endoscopic healing rates in the group A.Conclusion Esomeprazole combined with mosapride has the higher healing rate and symptom improvement rate in the treatment of severe reflux esophagitis,the effect is better than omeprazole combined with mosapride and esomeprazole alone.
