Title: Detection of borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato DNA in rodents from Anji
Abstract: Objective:To investigate the natural infection of Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato in rodents from Zhejiang province.Methods: A Nest-PCR based on 5S-23srRNA intergenic spacer was developed and applied to detect Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato in rodents.The positive PCR products were sequenced and analyzed.Results: Out of 109 rodents captured in Anji City in Zhejiang,6 rodents were positive for Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato.The positive rates in rice field rat,Berlmys bowers and Apdemus agraius were 5% and 13%.Conclusion :It suggested that there was Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato existed in Zhejiang Province.Rice field mouse,Apodemus and shrew are possible hosts of Borrelia But further investigation is still needed.
