Title: Curative effect of interventional uterine arterial embolization therapy in the treatment of 48 patients with hysteromyoma
Abstract: Objective:To evaluate the safety and curative effect of transcatheter uterine arterial embolization in treatment of hysteromyoma with PVA granules and absorbable gelatine sponge granules.Methods: To retrospectively study 48 patients with hysteromyoma treated by transcatheter uterine arterial embolization.These patients were followed up for 3 to 12 mouths postoperatively.Results: The symptom improved rates after operation 3 months,6 months and 12 months were 85%,89% and 98%,respectively.The sizes of hysteromyomas were lessened,with rates of 24.1%,50.0% and 68.1% respectively after these periods,and the average rate was 63.8%.The clinical symptoms were improved and without severe complications postoperatively.Conclusion: It is an safe and effective method to treat hysteromyoma by using transcatheter uterine arterial embolization with PVA granules and absorbable gelatine sponge granules, especially to patients who want to preserve their uteruses or are unwilling to receive surgical resection.
