Title: Comparative Analysis of the Supervision of Perioperative Application of Antibiotics in Pediatric Surgery Department of Our Hospital
Abstract: OBJECTIVE:To analyze the perioperative application of antibiotics in pediatric surgery department of our hospital, and to evaluate its reasonability. METHODS: A total of 140 discharged records of pediatric surgery department were randomly selected from our hospital during Nov. 2009-Feb. 2010. The utilization of antibiotics before and after monitoring was analyzed comparatively. RESULTS: 21.3% of type selection of antibiotics were rational before supervision while 76.7% were rational after supervision (P0.01); only 4.3% of cases were on the reasonable administration time before supervision and 100.0% were reached after supervision (P0.01); and 100.0% of the treatment course of antibiotics were irrational before supervision, and irrational treatment course accounted for 70.0% after supervision(P0.01). CONCLUSION: Through strengthening the supervision of perioperative application of antibiotics in our hospital, the rationality of antibiotics use in pediatric department has been greatly improved. However, there are some problems should be improved in respects of prophylactic drug use indications, drug combination, medication time, medication duration.
