Title: Application and research of seismic horizon curvature attribute in fracture prediction
Abstract: Seismic horizon curvature can be used to describe horizon's the degree of crook,and can represent the stress degree of the horizon,as a result,it can predict the fracture zone formed by the stress. In this paper,some block's actual data is taken as study example,after interpolation,2-D median filtering,smooth of target horizon data and then we extract thirteen frequently-used horizon curvatures and derived attributes nowadays,such as maximum curvature,minimum curvature,most positive curvature,most negative curvature and so on. Based on comprehensively comparative analysis of the curvature attributes,some suitable curvature attributes for this area's fracture prediction are selected,which remedy defects of the coherence attribute for fracture prediction in this area. Actual application results is coinciding well with drilling data. So curvature attribute will be worth to be popularized and applied in fracture prediction.
