Title: Criticism and Reaction: Religion during the Age of Enlightenment in Europe
Abstract: During the age of Enlightenment in Europe,the traditional beliefs and their functions and organizations were the main objectives that the Enlightenment thinkers especially those French atheists criticized.By analyzing the perspectives from which the Enlightenment thinkers criticized religions,this paper endeavors to firstly reveal the achievements of religious criticism,and reflect on the necessity of new rationality and tolerance in consideration of the reaction and development from religions.
