Title: Analysis on the Nutritional Status Among Primary and Secondary School Students,Qingdao City,2013
Abstract: Objective To understand the nutritional status of primary and secondary school students in Qingdao city,2013,so as to provide the scientific basis for improvement of the school nutrition and health work. Methods A survey was conducted among 8 564 students from 13 primary and secondary schools in Qingdao city by means of stratified cluster sampling.The category standard of overweight and obesity in children and adolescents of China were recommended by WGOC(2004),and the screening criteria of stunning and wasting were recommended by WHO(2007). Results The stunning,wasting,overweight and obesity rates among primary and secondary students in Qingdao were 4.57%,1.20%,14.76%,and 14.51%,respectlively in 2013.Overweight and obesity rates were higher among boys as compared with girls(P 0.01),and it was significantly higher in the urban students than that in the rural ones(P 0.01),and the prevalence of malnutrition was higher among rural students than urban students(P 0.01). Conclusion The malnutrition coexists with obesity among primary and secondary school students in Qingdao city,and more attention should be paid to the nutritional problems of boys and urban students.To strengthen school nutrition,and increase student extracurricular physical exercise are the important measures to improve the nutritional status of students.
