Title: Tuberculosis antigen detection in cerebrospinal fluid mononuclear cell in early diagnosis of tuberculous meningitis
Abstract: Objective To investigate the value of tuberculosis antigen detection in cerebrospinal fluid mononuclear cells for clinical diagnosis of tuberculous meningitis.Methods A total of 120 cerebrospinal fluid samples,including 60 patients in tuberculous meningitis group(TMG) and 60 patients in the control group(CG) was collected.Tuberculosis antigen in mononuclear cells of cerebrospinal fluid was detected by immunohistochemisty,and cerebrospinal fluid cytology was examined.Results Compared with the control group,the numbers of neutrophile granulocyte,lymphoidocyte(including lymphatic metastasis),and activate mononuclear cells of the tuberculous meningitis group were notably increased(χ2=22.76,17.05,4.04,11.76,P0.05).Tuberculin antigen were observed in mononuclear cells of cerebrospinal fluid of patients with tuberculous meningitis.The positive of the first examination were 48 cases in all 60 cases of tuberculous meningitis,and the sensitivity was 80.00%.And there was one positive case in the control group,and the specificity was 98.33%.After repeatedly detection,the sensitivity and specificity of tuberculous meningitis group and control group were high(χ2=76.19,71.55,35.28,P0.05).Conclusions The detection of cerebrospinal fluid mononuclear cells of tuberculosis antigens is an important tool in early diagnosis of tuberculous meningitis.
