Title: Status Investigation on Occupational Hazards in Lead-Acid Battery Assembly Corporation
Abstract: Objective To understand the status of occupational hazards in the lead-acid battery factory,to ensure workers′ safety and health.Methods The ways including the field investigation of occupational health,occupational health testing and other methods to collect data and information were carried out,combined with occupational protective equipment,personal protection levels of occupational diseases and the results of quantitative grading,the evaluation of the exposure levels of occupational hazards during the trial operation.Results The occupational hazards existed in the corporation were tin dioxide,arsenic and its inorganic compounds,lead fume,antimony and its compounds,copper fume,sulfuric acid,benzene,styrene,toluene,methyl methacrylate,butyl acetate and noise.The testing results showed that lead fume(C TWA 0.15-0.41 mg/m 3),tin and its compounds(C TWA 2.52-3.80 mg/m 3)in some posts exceeded national hygienic standards,after having transformed its protection facilities,the various types of occupational hazards in the concentration of exposure to all kinds of workers were in line with national standards.Conclusion The occupational hazards in the project are serious before transforming prevention facilities.After the transformation the exposure to occupational hazards of workers in concentration(intensities) is in line with national hygienic standards.
