Title: Evaluation on intervention effects of health education in pupils( Grade 4~6)and housewives in Fujian Province
Abstract: Objective To discuss effective intervention modes and approaches of endemic diseases health education, and to evaluate intervention effects. Methods Health education intervention was made among pupils and their mothers in Fujian province,and questionnaire surveys on endemic diseases prevention and control knowledge were performed before and after intervention. Results After health education intervention, the awareness rate of local fluoride epidemic disease prevention and control of pupils rose from 60. 04% to 97. 02%( χ2 = 726. 32, P 0. 01), and the awareness rate of housewives increased from 67. 87% to 95.65%( χ2= 279. 38, P 0. 01). Both awareness rates were higher than 80%( project goal), indicating the health education intervention was effective. Conclusion Effective health education intervention may improve the awareness rates of target populations in endemic disease areas and change their bad habits.
