Title: Effects of Green Spot Disease on the Fruit Quality of Valencia Orange
Abstract: [Objective] The aim of the research was to accumulate data and lay a theoretical foundation for researching the disease mechanism of green spot disease.[Method] With 20 years old valencia orange trees as tested materials, the change law of fruit quality of valencia orange with different infection severities after they were parasitized with Apatococcus lobatus was researched.[Result] When the fruit infection severity was 40% or 80%,compared with healthy fruit, the brightness, red value and yellow value of the peel were decreased significantly, its chlorophyll content was increased significantly, its carotenoids content, anthocyanidin content,carotenoids-chlorophyll ratio and anthocyanidin-chlorophyll ratio were decreased significantly and the peel was green-yellow.When the fruit infection severity was 5%,40% or 80%,the single fruit weight of infected fruit was a little lower than that of healthy fruit and their difference of fruit shape index was not significant. When the fruit infection severity reached 80%,compared with healthy fruit, the contents of soluble solids and vitamin C in infected fruit were decreased significantly and their difference of TSS-acid ratio was significant.[Conclusion] The green spot disease had no obvious effects on the fruit size and fruit shape of valencia orange, but it had significant effects on the color, external and internal qualities of valencia orange fruit.
