Title: Diagnosis and Treatment of External Auditory Canal Choisteatoma(A Report of 30 Cases)
Abstract: Objective To explore the diagnosis and treatment of external auditory canal cholesteatoma.Methods A retrospective study was carried out among 30 cases with the external auditory canal cholesteamtoma.Results All of them were accompanied with bony erosion of external auditory canal at various degrees.According to Holter,there were 15 cases in phase I,10 cases in phase II and 5 cases in phaseIII.15 cases of phase I were removed external auditory canal cholesteatoma,10 cases of phase II were performed external auditory canal plasty besides removing external auditory canal cholesteatoma.5 cases of phase III were treated by modified radical matoidectomy.Furthermore,19 cases were seen with intact tympanic membrane,11 with perforation in the ear drum.1 case was with erosion of facial canal.30 cased external auditory canal cholesteatma were not recurred following up for one year.However two cases failed with stricture was performed external auditory canal plasty.Conclusion The different stages of external auditory canal cholesteatoma should be treated by different ways.
