Title: Comment and analysis of outpatient prescriptions
Abstract: Objective To probe into basic situation and existing problems in outpatient prescriptions through comment and analysis of the outpatient prescriptions so as to standardize prescription writing and improve rational drug use. Methods A total of 4080 outpatient prescriptions from January to December, 2012 of some hospital were randomly selected, reviewed one by one, and analyzed by classification statistic of basic drug indicators and summary of comment results. Results Of the 4080 prescriptions reviewed, an average of 2.74 drugs was used per prescription and the average cost of each one was 128.32 Yuan. 29.63% of the prescriptions prescribed antibiotics, 22.54% injections,98.42% drugs in generic names, and 41.69% prescribed essential drugs. 281(6.89%) were unreasonable in which 173were nonstandard, 94 inappropriate in drug use and 14 had off-label use, which accounted for 61.57%, 33.45%, 4.98%of all unreasonable prcscriptions respectively. Conclusion The prescription of the hospital outpatient department was rational and standard on the whole. Yet there remain some problems. The hospital needs to strengthen the management and intervention, to further improve physicians rational drug use, prescription- writing and the pharmacists audit level of prescriptions, so as to improve the quality of prescriptions.
