Title: Analysis on potassium nutrient property of hybrid rice from site-specific long term experiment in Jinhua.
Abstract: Rice is one of those crops that have a relatively high requirement for potassium. The demand of rice for potassium is characterized by its remarkable variations with varieties and seasons. In order to obtain information about the peculiarities of hybrid rice in potassium absorption and utilization, a sitespecific fertilization experiment was conducted in the field of Jinhua Agriculture Science Research Institute which lasted 4 years started from 1997. The results were as follows, the average grain yield increase in early and late hybrid rice that received K were 744.6 kg/hm2 and 864.5 kg/hm2, respectively, and the corresponding harvest indices were 0.60 and 0.65, respectively. Thus the late hybrid rice was about to be more responsive to the beneficial of K in increasing grain yield. The amount of K that accumulated in total dry matter aboveground were 81.5109 kg/hm2 for early hybrid rice and 88.0125.2 kg/hm2 for late hybrid rice, both of them were higher than that of the inbred rice. K use efficiency of hybrid rice is close to inbred rice at early rice, but it is lower than inbred rice at late rice, compared with inbred rice, it indicates that hybrid rice did not behave the characteristic of K luxury consumption.
