Title: The comparative study of he Spiral CT coronal position scanning methods in the Ostiomeatal Complex
Abstract: Objective:To research for a better coronal position scanning method of the Spiral CT in the Ostiomeatal Complex.Methods:106patients' sinuses were scanned with Spiral CT in the coronal position in3mm-thick layers,56cases of them in the standard coronal position and50cases in the coronal oblique thin-slice scanning technique.MPR and3D reconstruction were performed. Results:the coronal oblique thin-slice scanning method produced the same result as the standard coronal thin-slice scanning(P0.05)in displaying the uncinate, middle turbinate, ethmoidal bulla, hiatus semilunaris and ethmoidal in-fundibulum,but it displayed the frontal drainage channel better(P0.05).Conclusion:the structures of the OMC,especially the drainage channel of frontal sinus, can be better demonstrated with coronal oblique thin-slice scanning technique, and thus it can be a valuable choice of radiology.
