Title: Observation of Curative Effect of Trimebutine Maleate Treating Epigastric Pain Syndrome
Abstract: Objective To observe the curative effect of Trimebutine Maleate in the treatment of epigastric pain syndrome(EPS).Methods 112 patients with documented EPS based on Rome Ⅲ criteria, selected from the patients in outpatient department of gastroenterology,Anji Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, from January 2009 to March 2011,were grouped by block with length of 4 and stratified randomization with two factors including ages(≥45 years,45 years)and sex(male, female). All patients were numbered according to the sequence and were assigned to different blocks of corresponding layer. Each block randomization was determined by looking-up the table of random numbers. The subjects were treated with Trimebutine Maleate and Omeprazole respectively for 2 weeks.Curative efficacy and symptom scores were evaluated afterwards. Results These 112 patients were equally divided into Trimebutine Maleate group(56 cases)and Omeprazole group(56 cases). The total scores of symptoms of both groups were all lower after treatment(P0.05),while it had no significant difference between the two groups after treatment(P0.05).After two weeks of treatment,30 cases had marked effect,11 cases were effective, and 15 cases without effect in Trimebutine Maleate group; In Omprazole group,31 cases had marked effect,13 cases were effective,12 cases without effect, which demonstrated no significant difference in curative effect between the two groups(u=0.346,P0.05).Conclusion Trimebutine Maleate therapy can markedly improve the clinical symptoms of EPS,which has the equivalent curative effect to that of Omeprazole.
