Title: Evaluation of Outpatient Prescription Drug Use in Our Hospital
Abstract: OBJECTIVE: To investigate the status quo and to evaluation the rationality and standardization of the of the outpatient use of prescription drugs in our hospital.METHODS: A total of 21,140 outpatient prescriptions randomly sampled at each month during 2007 in our hospital were subjected to a statistical analysis in respect of the drug variety,average consumption sum,the proportion of using prescriptions and the DDDs of the antibiotics.RESULTS: The drug expenditure per capita/time was 149.84yuan versus 69.75 yuan for that of antibiotic drugs per capita/time;the application duration of the antibiotic drugs per capita/time was 5.33 days;2.18 kinds of drugs were used in each prescription on average; the average drug cost in each prescription was 125.88 yuan;24.80% of the prescriptions involved use of antibiotic drugs,with the consumption sum of the antibiotics accounting for 14.18% of the total;5.30% of the sampled prescriptions were unqualified,of which,70.03% were non-standard ones,which represented 3.71% of the sampled prescriptions.CONCLUSION: The outpatient drug use is rational on the whole,but the non-standard prescriptions remain to be further improved.
