Title: Three-dimensional reconstruction of spiral CT images for the diagnosis of nasal bone fracture
Abstract: Objective To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy and clinical feasibility of three-dimensional construction of spiral CT images for nasal bone fracture. Methods Forty-five cases with nasal bone fracture were included in this study and they were all performed three-dimensional reconstruction with the spiral CT images to explore its diagnostic accuracy and clinical feasibility for nasal bone fracture. Results The 3-D reconstructed images were significantly superior to 2-D and plain film images in demonstrating the space relationships of nasal bone fracture, such as the type, location and extent of fracture, and fragments displacement. Conclusions The 3-D reconstructed images can clearly show more information about the space anatomic relationship of nasal bones and hold more clinical significance for the diagnosis of nasal bone fracture, when combined analysis is made on 2-D and plain film images
