Title: Investigation of irritable bowel syndrome with constipation treated by combination of oats and Chinese medicine with liver spleen regulating fu-unblocking therapy
Abstract: Objective To investigate irritable bowel syndrome with constipation treated by combination of oats and Chinese medicine with liver spleen regulating fu-unblocking therapy.Methods 100 cases of irritable bowel syndrome(IBS) with constipation were randomly divided into two groups.50 patients in treatment group were treated by combination of oats and Chinese medicine with liver spleen regulating fu-unblocking therapy.Patients in control group(n=50) were treated by polyethylene glycol 4000.The course was a month in two groups.The clinical effect,improvement rate of single symptom and traditional Chinese medicine symptoms score were observed.Results The cure rate and total effective rate in treatment group were superior to those in control group(P0.05).The improvement rate of single symptom including stomachache,defecation shape abnormality,mucous stool,abdominal distention and gastric distention when defecation in treatment group was higher than that in control group(P0.05).The traditional Chinese medicine symptoms score in treatment group was lower than that in control group after treatment(P0.05).Conclusion Combination of oats and Chinese medicine with liver spleen regulating fu-unblocking therapy can improve clinical symptoms of patient of IBS with constipation.The effect was superior to that in control group.
