Title: Main soil nutrient status and its effect on fruit quality of Newhall Orange in 3-gorge area
Abstract: The soil nutrient status(0~40 cm) and their fruit quality were tested respectively in 2002 and 2003 from 4 Newhall Navel Orange orchards of 3-gorge area. The results showed that the difference of main nutrient status and fruit quality among 4 orchards was significant. The soil nutrient status of XS-HB was the best, that of BD-HB was the second, then that of FJ-CQ,that of ZG-HB was the worst; The main fruit nutrient quality of FJ-CQ was the best, but the best peel color was that from ZG-HB.The multiple linear stepwise regression analysis revealed that among a certain range, the TA content was significantly correlated with soil avail.P(negatively),the ratio of TSS to TA was most significantly correlated with SOM and avail.P(positively),the Vc content was significantly correlated with avail.K(positively),the peel redness was most significantly correlated with both SOM(positively) and avail.K(negatively),and the peel yellowness significantly correlated with avail.N(positively).
