Title: DSA Guided Foam Sclerotherapy Combined with Lauromacrogol in Treatment of Lower Extremity Varicose Ulcer
Abstract: Objective To evaluate the feasibility, safety and curative effect of DSA guided foam sclerotherapy combined with lauromacrogol in treatment of lower extremity varicose ulcer. Methods a Total of 48 legs in 36 selected patients with lower extremity varicose ulcer underwent DSA guided foam sclerotherapy combined with lauromacrogol. The average area of varicose ulcer was 5 cm2(1~7 cm2).During the operation, the patients underwent high ligation of great saphenous vein in the beginning, then were treated with DSA guided lauromacrogol foam sclerotherapy using 4F catheter to lower extremity varicose. Results The success rate of DSA guided lauromacrogol foam sclerotherapy was 100%.The dose of foam sclerosant ranged from 3.4 ml to 8.2 ml per patient, with an average dose of 6.5 mlper patient. There was no serious complication occurred.2 weeks after therapy, the ulcer showed healed in 38 limbs(79.1%),the area of ulcer showed reduced in 8 limbs(16.7%),no change in 2 limbs(4.16%).During the next 6 to 12 months, the ulcer showed healed in 45 limbs(93.8%),recurrence in 3 limbs(6.25%).Conclusion DSA-guided foam sclerotherapy was a feasible, safe and effective treatment for lower extremity varicose ulcer.
