Abstract: Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Wenyangzhitong capsule against the pain to bony metastatic carcinoma. Methods 35 patients were first observed by self-cross-over control study, then divided randomly into treatment group and control group. Compare the analgesic efficacy and adverse effects of two groups after being administered. Results In the self-cross-over control study, the efficacy rates of Wenyangzhitong capsule, Indomethacin and placebo were 62.8%, 71.4%, 28.6%, respectively. Both Wenyangzhitong capsule group and Indomethacin group showed significant difference compared with the placebo group (P0.01). The efficacy rates of d3, d7 after treatment were 66.7%, 72.2% in Wenyangzhitong capsule group, and 70.6%, 64.7% of the Indomethacin group. There was no significant difference between them (P0.05). Conclusion Wenyangzhitong capsule is effective against the pain to bony metastatic carcinoma and safe to acute administering.
