Title: Interrelation of Cytological Development Period of Marigold Microspore the Morphology of Flower Organ
Abstract: The bud size and morphological characteristics of the buds and anthers were defined and the paper focused on the morphological characteristics of flower buds of marigold(Tagetes erecta L.) at various stage of microspore development, and the relationships between microspore development and shape of flower organs. The results showed that marigold's microspore develped at four stages:Tetrad, uninucleate, binucleate, and trinucleate, and each stage demonstrated rated distinctive characteristics.Microspore development also had closely correlativity with the characteristics of flower buds and the color of anthers. The buds 2.00~3.49 cm in height, with the ratio of buds’ height to diameter:2.27~2.44 and the ratio of petals to calyx:2/3~3/2,and with moderate yellow anther were discovered to contain the highst rate of microspores at the mid-or late-uninucleate.Different small flowers of the same bud showed graduality to some extent, microspore development of the same small flower showed graduality to some extent.
