Title: Octreotide in Treatment of Gastrointestinal Hemorrhage
Abstract: Objective To observe the effect of octreotide in treatment of gastrointestinal hemorrhage. Methods 40 cases of uppe gastrointestinal bleeding hospitalized patients were choosen during October 2008 and May 2011 in our department were randomly divided into treatment group and control group(20 patients in each). The control group received Omeprazole treatment, and the treatment group received octreotide based on the control group, bleeding time, transfusion of blood transfusion and re-occurrence were observed, and the clinical efficacy was compared. Results In the treatment group, bleeding time was shorter than that in the control group, blood transfusion was less than the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P0.05),total effective rate in the treatment group was 90.0%,which was higher than the 75.0% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).Rebleeding in the treatment group was 1 case(10.0%),and in the control group was 4 patients(20.0%),the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion Combined with conventional therapy based on the treatment of acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding octreotide can reduce the time to stop bleeding and reduce blood volume and lower rebleeding rate, the application is safe and effective.
