Abstract: Objective To investigate HIV/AIDS related knowledge, attitude and behavior(KAB) among nursing college students and to provide scientific basis for launching HIV/AIDS health education. Methods Totally,603 nursing students were recruited from the first-year and second-year college students in a medical college by multiple-stage cluster sampling and were surveyed with self-design questionnaires. Results The awareness rate of HIV/AIDS related knowledge among the nursing college students was 50.4%~99.2%.The score of HIV/AIDS related knowledge was 9.67±0.74,and that of HIV/AIDS related attitude was 25.47±1.77.Students in the second year scored higher than those in the first year(26.89±1.67 vs 23.17±2.01,t=3.96,P0.05).Male students scored lower than female students(24.38±1.78 vs 26.21±1.41,t=2.41,P0.05).The score of the students' attitude toward HIV/AIDS related work was 17.22±2.45,and students in the second year scored higher than those in the first year(18.11±2.49 vs 16.38±2.18,t=2.66,P0.05).There were no statistically significant differences between the male and female students.Correlations were found between the HIV/AIDS related knowledge score and attitude score(r=0.36,P0.05).Conclusions The knowledge and attitude of nursing college students towards HIV/AIDS still need to be improved.Targeted education about HIV/AIDS related knowledge and skills should be addressed in medical education.
