Title: Apoptosis and pro-apoptotic proteins released by mitochondia
Abstract: Apoptosis, a form of genetically programmed cell death, plays a key role in regulation of development and orderly maintenance of cellular homeostasis in organism. In response to intracellular damage and certain physiological cues, cells enter the suicide program termed apoptosis. Many of the biochemical processes in apoptosis are regulated by the mitochondria. This review will focus on the mutual effect among pro apoptotic proteins released by mitochondria, Bcl 2 family and caspases. \[
