Title: Misdiagnosis and Delayed Diagnosis of 832 Frozen Sections of Breast Diseases
Abstract: Objective To investigate the accurate rate of quick frozen section in diagnosis of breast diseases,and to analyze the causes of misdiagnosis and delayed diagnosis. Methods The diagnosed results of 832 intraoperative frozen sections of breast disease and postoperative paraffin slices during August 2009 and September 2014 were retrospectively analyzed. Results The accurate rate of intraoperative frozen section was 98. 08%,the misdiagnosis rate was0. 60%. The misdiagnosed cases were false negative,and were commonly benign phyllodes tumor and intraductal papilloma; the rate of delayed diagnosis was 1. 32%,and the delayed diagnosis cases were commonly intraductal carcinoma with sclerosing adenosis. Conclusion The intraoperative frozen sections in diagnosis of breast diseases can improve understanding the cause of misdiagnosis and delayed diagnosis and increase the accuracy rate of diagnosis.
