Abstract: In view of the great number of psychoactive drugs and remedies that in combination with alcohol can have a disastrous effect on the behaviour of the driver of a vehicle, it is suggested that the public should be made aware of this by the following; appropriate warnings should be printed on packages of medicines. Doctors and pharmacists should direct the attention of patients and clients to the dangers of the simultaneous consumption of psychoactive drugs and alcohol. As the problem of consumption of alcohol and drugs is of particular importance for the task of traffic safety, and the technologies in this subject are rapidly changing, the working group S14 'New Research on Alcohol and Drugs' considers it necessary that there should be a a constant exchange of information via fundamental research and counter-measures and accompanying researches on the effects.
