Title: Not Merely Study of Foreign Law: Comparative Law as Legal Philosophy
Abstract: How it is possible to actually understand foreign law? This question is confronted by comparative lawyers time and time again. Many times the answers are of practical nature. However, in fact, answering this question is also deeply legal theoretical venture. In this article it is argued that every comparative lawyer is implicitly engaged with similar type of questions as legal theoreticians: what is law? How can one understand it correctly?
