Title: An emended description of Ditylenchus valveus Thorne &Malek, 1968 and description of D. filimus n. sp. (Nematoda: Tylenchidae) from mushroom compost in Canada
Abstract: Ditylenchus filimus n. sp., found in mushroom compost from western Canada with D. valveus Thorne &Malek, 1968, is described and illustrated. Main differential characters of the new species are a stylet length of less than 10 μm, narrow lateral field of four incisures, pyriform basal esophageal bulb without lobes or intestinal overlap, a posterior vulva at 83–85% of body length, short postuterine sac, and an attenuated tail ending in a filament. An emended description of D. valveus includes a stylet length of less than 10 μm in contrast to a reported 12 μm.
