Abstract: Five eyes with severe secondary angleclosure glaucoma were operated upon using the silicone elastomer (Silastic) implantation cyclodialysis procedure. It was not possible to thereby significantly reduce the intraocular pressure except for one eye, which also underwent a cyclodiathermy. Microscopic examination of this eye and two other eyes revealed an inflammatory reaction surrounding the silicone elastomer that obliterated the connection between the anterior chamber and suprachoroidal space. The silicone elastomer implant cyclodialysis is not recommended for severe secondary angle-closure glaucoma.
