Title: Role of electron-lattice interaction in lattice dynamics and lattice instability of 1T-TiSe2
Abstract: To study the lattice instability of 1T-TiSe2, phonon dispersion curves are calculated by taking into account the effective ion-ion interaction caused by the electron—lattice coupling which is linear in ionic displacements. It is found that the temperature dependence of the effective interaction leads to a complete softening of the L−1(1) mode which corresponds to the superlattice structure of TiSe2 below 200 K.
