Title: Insulation properties of XLPE by adding cross-linking agent and cross-linking co-agent
Abstract: We studied the electrical, chemical and mechanical characteristics of XLPE by dicumyl peroxide (DCP) and trimethylolpropane triacrylate (TMPTA) content ratio. DCP content was changed from 1.0 to 2.5 phr increasing 0.5 phr. TMPTA content was changed 0.5 to 1.5 phr increasing 0.5 phr. Thermal analysis (DSC) was carried out in order to observe the tendency of T/sub g/ according to DCP and TMPTA content. Tensile strength was measured in order to observe the mechanical strength. In experimental results, DCP content of 2.0 phr and TMPTA content of 1.0 phr has the highest breakdown strength. A DCP content of 2.0 phr and TMPTA content of 0.5 phr has lowest dielectric constant. The tendency of T/sub g/ was not affected by DCP and TMPTA content.
