Abstract: Abstract Girls are a unique subpopulation of the juvenile justice system, and have a variety of gender‐specific needs and concerns that are not always addressed. Historically, girls have been treated significantly differently than boys, become involved with delinquency for different reasons, and are involved in different types of deviant behaviors.
