Title: Response of Festuca arundinacea in phenotype and offspring to Co60 ray radiation.
Abstract: Seeds of Festuca arundinacea cv.Houndog V were radiated with Co60 ray to study variation in phenotypic characteristics and offspring growth rate,tillering capacity and phenotypic characteristics.The results showed that: 1) Festuca arundinacea cv.Houndog V radiated had an obvious variation in plant height,leaf length,leaf width,leaf thickness.Among them,plant height,leaf length,tiller number,number of grains per plant,density were decreased more than control;leaf width was significantly narrower than control;leaf thickness was very significantly thicker than control;1000-grain weight was reduced;leaf color was not changed.2) Growth rate and tillering capacity of offspring radiated were reduced.Growth rate was reduced most in jointing stage.3) The offspring radiated had obvious variation in phenotypic characteristics compared with control offspring.
